[Ami has a standing invitation to the Skywalker house, but she's not very comfortable availing herself of that at first. She should give time for them to reunite, she shouldn't be rude and come without notice, she can't invite herself, she has a thousand excuses.
Today the excuses are over as Leia said it'd be a good idea to meet and talk. Meeting Luke's family is not exactly an easy thing to prepare herself for calmly, but she does the best she can at that.
So she's shown up at the door with a small wrapped gift in hand, and knocks somewhat nervously.
[Action, sometime after Leia's settled after arrival]
[Leia is still not used to Luceti, but it's a slow process, considering she just arrived. Between her brother being older than her by a lot instead of just a few minutes and her parents actually not being that much older than herself. It's a lot to adjust to honestly.
But, the knock on the door? That would be Luke's fiancée, Ami. And that was something she could handle.
So, here's Leia, wearing a nice shirt and pants combo, looking nothing like a princess of a planet, answering the door with a smile.
Oh, and wow, Luke's really done well for himself. She's very pretty.]
You must be Ami. I'm Leia. Please, come in.
[Action, sometime after Leia's settled after arrival]
[At the moment, Ami doesn't look much like the ancient princess of planet Mercury, either. She pays her respects to Leia regardless of what either of them look like, making a polite bow.]
I'm pleased to meet you. [She steps inside after Leia invites her, and takes in the entryway with a glance.] I didn't expect to be able to meet Luke's sister.
Re: [Action, sometime after Leia's settled after arrival]
[She leads the way carefully to the living room, knowing that the other woman would follow behind her.]
Well, to be honest, I didn't expect to meet anyone here either. So, we're pretty even on that front, I suppose. Luke told me a little about you, but it's nice to actually get to know the woman that's won my brother's heart.
( Seeking out Leia in person might not be the best idea. She has a feeling her beautiful daughter takes after Anakin in that way - and he doesn't always do well if he senses confrontation.
Besides, and this is on a more selfish note, she wants to test the waters and see how she can best help Leia without being tempted to embrace her and overly mother her. )
[After the abyssmal training session with Luke earlier that morning, Leia has gathered up a few of the reference books she picked up at the library and is camped out in the backyard of the house. She brings her journal with her, just in case she needs to take notes in the private sections or she comes across something that piques her interest.
But, to be perfectly honest, it's a façade. She can't concentrate on anything, the two very different talks swirling through her mind in rapid succession. If her father—Bail Organa, to be exact—were still alive, she could turn to him for advice or at least a nudge in the right direction. But, she doesn't have that now. She doesn't even have Mon Mothma either.
While she's spending a few moments feeling sorry for herself, she hears the voice of her mother and pulls the journal closer to her.
She will never get tired of seeing the woman staring at her. Leia's eyes sweep over Padmé Amidala-Skywalker's features, looking for similarities and differences from her own. It's eerie and wonderful at the same time.
And she's asking to talk. It's as if the Force is nudging her in the right direction and she can't help but laugh to herself. Of course.]
I don't see how it will hurt anything, Mother. But...I'm only outside if you want to come out.
[Han has a pretty good feel for when Leia will actually be at the house by now. And he's become very good at spontaneity in years of being in love with someone with a schedule like hers.
Which is why he approaches her dressed in clothes that clearly haven't been used for any sort of mechanical project and carrying flowers.]
[Despite being on "vacation" from her responsibilities with the Alliance and trying to get into contact with the other displaced refugees of Alderaan, Leia is and always will be a busy woman. She works as much as she can or she's sure she'll scream.
True, she has a lot of things she can do with just getting to know her parents, brother, Han and Ami. But that isn't enough for her. Not... really. But reading as much as she can from other worlds in the library and speaking to those who've been in the Luceti enclosure for a long time to find out more fills her times when she's not training in some form or fashion.
And she knows that Han is curious about where she goes on the four days she and Ami go for their lessons, but he seems to know better than to pry. She's been relieved, and she tries to make sure she's home in time for dinner with her family.
But to be greeted by her handsome future-husband in nice, clean clothes and flowers is...suspicious. She narrows her eyes and looks at the flowers before looking at Han's face.]
[These are not the "I screwed up" flowers. You will know the "I screwed up" flowers when you see them. They're much flashier than this simple arrangement that he's offering her.]
Made dinner reservations. Just you and me.
[That sort of thing is precious in a crowded house like this. And he can never get enough of her.]
[Finding Leia, wherever she might be, isn't difficult for Luke. It's instinctive, the bond by his time a fundamental part of who he is. He didn't want to bring up what he had to say at a morning training session, though, so he'll catch her probably at the Battle Dome.]
Leia, I'd like to talk to you about something. Something important.
[For Leia, her times at the Battle Dome for those three afternoons a week are oddly relaxing. Sometimes, she recreates skirmishes she's participated in during the main fights of the rebellion. At others, she's managed to cobble together a halfway decent flight sim.
Today's activity was going to be some beginner's rock climbing, a subject she'd been reading about recently in the library. That is until her brother approaches her before she can enter her room.]
Of course. Is it a need-my-full-attention sort of important?
[Still being fully connected to the Force, Anakin could feel when Leia was heading back to the village. She was a faint sensation in the Force until about a day or two out, and then her presence steadily grew stronger.
When they were not more than an hour outside the enclosure, Anakin found a place on the path that they would take just outside the village and waited. Padmé was back, and he knew Leia deserved to know before she just stumbled across her mother accidentally.
He got there well before the party's arrival, he found a spot to occupy, fiddling with a droid while he waited.]
[She spotted the droid before she saw Anakin and tugged on Han's arm before heading over. She wasn't sure what was going on, but it had to be pretty big if he was coming out to meet her like this.
It wasn't about Luke. If something had happened to her brother, she was pretty sure that she'd known about it before hand, even as separated as they were during the mission. So, maybe it was something to do with Siri or Ami or another acquaintance?]
Hello, Anakin. It's good to see you again.
[Totally the truth, considering what happened while they were gone and how much she'd been worried while away.]
[Anakin was not exactly who Han would have expected to see. Though at least this meant he was out of his room. That was progress.
He let Leia guide him over. Both of them are looking a bit banged up, though nothing too bad. Enough to explain why they're practically glued to each other though.]
[There are parts of this that still seem surreal. Then again, why not? It is out of the scope of her purview, a complete unknown. The future had always been something that lay in front of her, as unknown to her as the force. It was there, and it would come, yet in due course.
Yet, since arriving here, Padmé has learned some pieces of the greater unknown. The how and why is still cloaked from her, although she's not too interested in exploring that, at least not yet. Perhaps it is a measure to keep control of the things that she does know, or perhaps it is some inner sense of something, some great thing that looms ahead, a darkness.
She's still a bit at a loss of what to do. Moving from a galaxy where she is a Senator with duties to attend to on a daily basis, the pace here, despite everything, is still slow. Padmé isn't one for sitting still for too long, which may well explain the short walk she had taken. She's returning now, back to the space she shared openly (another change) with Anakin.]
[Like mother, like daughter. Leia found the first few weeks of being in Luceti stifling and irritating. She thrived on routine, action, purpose. And when she arrived, all of that had been ripped from her. In time, she'd made a schedule and filled her days with learning, training, exploring, and getting to know her family and her future with the man she loves more than life itself.
But then, they'd gone back in time and her mother and Obi-Wan Kenobi had returned to their galaxy, leaving her, her brother and Han to try and keep both Anakin and Siri Tachi together as a cohesive group. It hadn't been easy.
Even worse had been the mission where she and Han had both been injured. Not terribly, mind, but enough. And they'd both refused treatment from the members of their group that could commune with Nala, the healing spirit of this world. No, Leia wears the gash across her cheek with a small measure of pride, considering it meant she and Han had lived through the ordeal and it had been a success.
Returning to the village and being blindsided with the knowledge of her mother's return had been difficult for her, but not as much as the fact that Padmé not only didn't remember Luceti, she didn't really remember having children either. So, Leia has decided to give her space and let her come to her when she's ready. It's so hard, but she's used to difficult things by now.
She's just left the apartment she shares with Han and Luke to see what's available at the general store so that she can help Han fix dinner when she spots the other woman and stands ramrod straight as her mother approaches her.]
[She's still not too sure what to make of the knowledge. Padmé has not even been married to Anakin for that long before she had been taken, and children hadn't crossed her mind. At least not yet. Certainly she had always thought that one day she might, and she could recall having conversations with her sister about it. Yet to be confronted with the truth that she had a son, and not only a son, but a son that was older than her.
And a daughter her same age.
Luke had told her that Leia has been off, and Anakin had also told her that she likes politics. And that she also looks like her. She could see parts of herself in Luke, and parts of Anakin as well. A mix of the two, and yet also something completely all his own.
Padmé has noticed her, although it's not until she draws a bit closer that she slows her pace, until she has stopped. There is a myriad of emotions across her face, and her lips purse a moment, in thought, before her features soften.] You- are you Leia?
[After waking up and untangling himself from his girlfriend…no…fiancee’s bed, he’d set aside any thoughts of bothering with the farm today. Let the droids handle it, he was in for a series of conversations with his family, the most important people he had here. Ami had given him the go-ahead, and it wasn’t like he could hide it from anyone Force Sensitive enough to see his elation and hope anyway. So off he set, looking for his family.
Han and Leia are easy to locate, the bonds between the three of them stronger than any Luke had ever known. And thankfully, they’re together. Good, that makes this conversation easier. Here he comes, waving. And oh boy does he look like he won the Boonta Eve Classic…]
[Is that a rhetorical question? Because that is not an entirely common look. He'd expected LUke of all people to feel a little more complicated by that announcement.]
[These are still not the "I screwed up" flowers. She will know the "I screwed up" flowers when she sees them. But Luke has described the significance of this day, and who is he to ignore a holiday devoted to love?]
[Action, sometime after Leia's settled after arrival]
