[If anything, the announcement has made Leia more thoughtful about what going home meant for her. Not that she let it show on her face.

But, she has half an inkling why her brother looks like a cat that's discovered an entire aviary. And it's easy enough to dig up a smile for him.]

Of course, Luke. Are you hungry? [Shhh, she's discovered that she might actually enjoy cooking. Sheesh. So long as it's not overly complicated.]

Hungry?

[Shaking his head, Luke gives Han a look. Dude. Dude. Don't be harshin' his buzz.]

Nah, I'm alright. I don't think I could eat, even if I was hungry, honestly.

[He plunks down in a chair though and gives them both a half smile.]

Anyway, basically what I wanted to say...well, I'm no good at keeping secrets or teasing you guys. So...[A pause, and he just spits it out with that Skywalker grin.] Ami and I decided that we're going to get married.

[Han's trademark grin appears as soon as he hears those words. He's up on his feet in an instant, clapping Luke on the back.]

Way to go, kid.

[Her own smile turns up in its intensity as she moves to hug her brother tightly.]

That's wonderful news! Have you told anyone else? Were you planning on having the ceremony before anything happens?

[Details. Give her details.]

[He grins and shakes his head.]

Well, no. I was planning on telling Anakin and Padme next, but you guys came first.

[A beat and he goes on.]

And no, we're going to wait till we've united our realities.

[Yes, he just said that. No, he is not full of shit. Yes, this is his shit-eating Shounen Hero Grin. No, he is not lying.

He is completely serious.]

[Han's not about to get into the reality difficulties. Too busy being happy.]

Soooo... bachelor party?

[Ignoring Han's question about a bachelor party, which really isn't all that surprising, Leia's attention is all for her brother.]

Do you really think that's possible?

[A part of her hopes that it is. She's met so many interesting people here that she's not sure she wants to return home, even as busy as she is, without some way of contacting them again.]

Of course I do, Leia.

[He nods at Han, as much acknowledgement as he can give with the serious topic on the table now.]

It may not even be truly difficult, honestly. Not with some of the things I've learned here. Did either of you ever meet Tony Stark? Or Loki?

[He's going to take that as a yes on the bachelor party. You had the chance to stop him, Luke]

I don't think we've met. They know something about these different worlds?

No, I never met either of them. I have heard stories, rumors about Loki, but very few of them good. Was he or this Stark involved in...interdimentional travel?

[It just seems ridiculous saying that out loud.]

A while back we all worked on a device that was supposed to open a portal to another world. I have the schematics memorized, and most of it's stuff I could put together out of scrap from Ord Mantell without difficulty, now that I know the theory.

It worked, by the way, or would have if it weren't for the barrier and the world itself. It's something that I'll have to tinker with and test? But the device itself, and the theory? Aren't that different from a hyperdrive.

That simple?

[He's a lot less skeptical than he once was. Luke had cured him of that pretty thoroughly. And at this point, he really does hope it's true, because Ami makes Luke happy and that matters.]

Neither world has a barrier, as far as we know.

So, you think it's possible that we can travel to see one another after we leave here with the help of this device?

[That's...astounding. Something that would have aided them so much during the time of the Rebellion and the aftermath.]

With the right set of coordinates, yes. I...think I'll be relying on the Force to make that a reality, on my end. And on her's, well...she's the most intelligent person I've ever met.

[He's not sure about uniting every reality, but people he has a connection with? Maybe.]

[Not that Luke's biased or anything]

The Force can do an awful lot.

[Fifteen years ago, he wouldn't have said that. It seemed like a lifetime. In some ways it was.]

Why not bridge universes with the right machine?

[Besides, the kid is so excited, he can't quash that]

[She's reminded of a conversation she had recently with Sokka.]

There are plenty of others around who might be interested in something like this. Is there anything I can do to help?

[She's not as strong or talented as her brother with the Force, but she wants to do something that isn't waiting. She hates this useless, listless feeling she's had since the announcement.]

At the moment? No. All of this is going to have to wait until we make it home. The device, though, well...once I get that working, then I'll see what I can do for the others. Ideally, people with connections to me. Force Bonds. I can probably find Aang's world, through him, though, speaking of Sokka.

But then, when we get back, when you catch up to my timeline, you'll be a lot stronger in the Force. You can definitely help me then.

You need any help building your device, you just say the word.

[He doesn't have the Force. He's the only one in the family that doesn't. But he'll help however he can.]

[If the information they'd been given was correct, they'd be returning home with their memories and experiences intact. She'd be leaps and bounds ahead of what she was the moment she'd wound up here. And in eight years? She'd be even further ahead, because there would be no reason to drop her training to the wayside, even in the middle of trying to clean up the remnants of the Imperial forces.]

Just remind me when the time comes. I will do anything in my power to help you accomplish this. [She smiles ruefully.] Although, I suppose it's just as much a selfish wish on my part as anything else.

Don't worry Han, I will. I'm gonna need it.

[He turns to Leia, offering a warm smile and a laugh.]

What's that supposed to mean?

Can it really be that much harder than toppling the Empire?

[We can do the impossible. It's our thing.]

Han has a point. We freed a galaxy from two powerful Sith Lords. This should be...child's play when we get home.

[She leans forward to grasp her brother's arm gently.]

I would like to keep Ami, and Sokka, in my life after we leave here as well.

[Do the impossible, see the invisible, row-row fight the power.]

Maybe more complicated than that, but with actual technology? It's certainly something within our grasp.

This sounds like it won't involve a single Death Star.

[This is their standard. Is there a Death Star.]

Well, I was be factitious, Luke, but I have a feeling that we can do this if we put a little effort into it.
