Am I...Oh. [Her hand touches the wound on her cheek, the one she'd refused to let Aang heal since he'd been busy keeping both Theobald and Zuko alive. The young man needed his rest and with something non-life threatening, she wasn't going to have him waste energy on her.]
I'm okay, I suppose. Things got...out of hand at the end.
[That's putting it mildly, but there's no reason to worry Anakin if she can help it.]
[Anakin stared at Leia long enough to figure out if she was telling the truth. He'd met enough stubborn people to know they were the hardest to convince to seek medical treatment.
He also not so subtly skipped over Leia's question. He was physically well, and that's all he would admit to anyways. He was stubborn, too.
He nodded, grateful they'd made it back, but to show he wouldn't push the health issue.]
"I needed to tell you... about something that happened while you were gone."
[She was telling most of the truth. She and Han had had to fight. It wasn't the first time. It wouldn't be the last, and they were such a good team that a few cuts and scrapes were all they really sustained. Well, and the huge bruise Han sported on his back from rolling over a rock while trying to get away from one of the cultists.
At Anakin's response, she nodded, hand tightening around Han's arm where she still kept a grip. She's worried because this is very unusual for the two of them.]
[Anakin wasn't maliciously trying to ignore Han, he just had information for Leia. Though, of course, Han would be affected by it as well, just not directly.]
[She stared at Anakin for a long moment, unable to speak. Unable to think. She'd tried to not get her hopes up that Padmé would return, because in a way it was very cruel to wish her mother here. But, then again, she had had such little time with her, had barely gotten to know her, that it felt like a relief to hear those six little words.
And it would account for the almost recovered way he was acting. True, he'd been up and moving before the group left the enclosure, but he was nearly back to himself now.
But, she knew enough about Luceti to ask a very important question.]
[Han wasn't sure what he'd been expecting, but it wasn't quite that.]
Well that's...
[What is it, really? They'd all missed her to varying degrees. But at the same time, it's never quite right to wish someone somewhere against their will]
[It was a testament to how little Leia knew Anakin that she thought this shell of a person standing before her was almost recovered. This was Anakin walking and talking, nothing more, he wasn't even close to back to his old self. Padme had noticed it within moments of seeing him again, though he hadn't given any explanation. Even after having his arm chopped off and dealing with his mother's death, which was the last time Padme had seen him back home before returning to Luceti, he was more jovial than he was in this place.]
"Nothing about Luceti. She's... from an earlier point in time. Three years earlier."
[Anakin understood what that would mean for Leia, and it was the reason he'd come out to tell her before she stumbled across Padme unawares.]
"I'm sorry, she has no memory of you. But I told her about you."
[Well, she and Anakin have hardly sat down to have many heart-to-hearts and she's still learning how to focus on her Force abilities. She's not as well-trained as Luke or Anakin, and she doesn't really like the prying feeling she got when she was too close to another person.
Having Anakin up, functional and using more than a few words at a time to talk to other people-even going so far to seek her out-was more than enough for her to think he might be on his way to coming back to a normal-ish way of dealing with the rest of them.]
She doesn't remember anything then. [It was both a relief and a stab to the heart, honestly. It would give her time to get to know her mother once again, without all of the awkwardness of her own departure. However, it also meant trying to help Padmé reconcile herself to the idea of children she didn't know.
Something Leia was still in the process of doing without the benefit of actually dealing with her future children.]
Well, that's something. I...[She looks over at Han and tries not to think about the implications of everything.] I'll let her get to know us in increments then. It might be easier for her in the long run.
[Anakin stared blankly at Han for a few seconds, trying to determine if that implication was intentional insulting or not. Worse things, like the fact he kills her.
He would have like to leave at that moment, but he had one more detail to convey.]
"We," [Clearly meaning him and Luke.] "Didn't tell her about the future more than to explain you and Luke's exited."
[Really, Han, do you think before you say things? You should know better. Leia, knowing what happens, attempted to not flinch at her husband's faux pas as she elbowed him in the gut, focusing her attention back on Anakin.]
Well, that does help, in case I run into her. I will keep that in mind.
[She tried to give him a reassuring smile, but how effective it would be at this point was probably nonexistent.]
[Anakin didn't have any more information to relay, and this conversation had surpassed awkward and had moved into painful territory for him. It was time for him to go.
He ended things with a customary Jedi bow.]
"I'm glad your mission was a success." [It was the most honest, positive salutation he could think of.
[She could be angry with Han, but what good would it serve. How many times had she herself stumbled over words with Anakin? No, when it came to her birth father, things were hard fought for and easily lost with a few misplaced words.
But to actually have him come down here and show concern for her well-being was... new. Nice even.]
I know, Han, but he's so unhappy and easy to rile up.

"Are you alright? Do you need a medic?"
[Han's question was left unanswered, because Anakin was wholly more concerned with Leia's well being first.]

[No one was successfully skewered. That was definitely good.]

Nothing bad happened, I hope. More than usual.

He won't know what to do until he hears what Anakin has to stay. Besides stay next to Leia when she needs him.]

[Just when they think they have it all figured out.]
There are worse things to learn than having a couple amazing kids in the future.
[Such as... a lot of the rest of the future. He's certainly not going to tell Padme any of that himself. It's not his place.
And he knew a thing or two about easing a person into things.]

The other interpretation occurred to him roughly in sync with that elbow.
Okay, so no more talking about that. Something more neutral.]
It's... good to know she's back.
[He did like her, from their brief meetings before.]

It's a good thing you're handsome. Sometimes.

Not anything like I was going for.
